The environment is one of the points of greatest attention for the APS Arca Tentyris. Attention to nature and low impact is primarily to be found in personal behaviors, linked to consumption, transport, working methods. In recent years, self-education in this direction has led to the awareness that technology can be the first and fundamental ally in the search for styles that make high-quality housing settlements compatible with the needs of the environment. To go in this direction, a reflection on the use of energy for domestic use is essential.

One of the projects in which the APS has accumulated more experience is the construction of new houses and the renovation of old farmhouses in which all the systems are low-consumption and high-yield, based on renewable energy. In their community settlements, the members of Arca Tentyris apply and experiment heating systems based on biomass, heat pumps, geothermal, alongside the more traditional solar and photovoltaic panels; the need to heat houses of different sizes, in which adults, children and the elderly live for twelve months a year, offers the possibility of experimenting and testing different solutions, which are gradually improved.

In the same way, the experimentation is also applied to different fields such as small farms, greenhouses, beekeeping, trying to create conditions in which the correct use of technology allows to optimize results and minimize the impact. The advanced point of experimental research is that of communication with the plant world through the exchange of sound impulses, applying synthesizers to plants that plants can use by self-regulating their electrical resistivity and thus creating musical phrases in response to similar stimuli coming from people.
